Kids are invited to participate in the parade, on their feet, bikes, roller blades, skateboards, scooters, ponies, whatever!
Right after the welcoming remarks on the Common, there will be a parachute playtime.
Kids will be able to make their own solar hot dog cookers out of Pringles cans, and sample (hopefully solar cooked) hot dogs made from grass fed, local beef. Kids can cook their own their S’mores, sun willing, in pizza box solar ovens. Other fun activities for kids include learning to plant seeds, playing games with recycled items and learning to make useful and beautiful things from “trash.”
Kids will also be able to see models of a solar electric car, a windmill, and a large solar house; solar cookers and other projects made by our 8th graders; watch sheep shearing (hopefully), wool carding, spinning, and weaving, and other demonstrations; and enjoy the music.
