There will be two major presentations. “Creative Community Solutions to Climate Change and Peak Oil” will feature two perspectives: a citizens group centered in Brattleboro, VT working on Peak Oil; and a city government, Keene, NH, working on climate change. Tim Stevenson, co-founder and Executive Director of Post Oil Solutions, will discuss citizen efforts to prepare for a future less dependent on fossil fuels. A Keene city official will discuss the steps Keene is taking to reduce carbon emissions.
“Green Building Old & New: EcoVillages & Green Renovation” will feature Bill Cole from Katywil EcoVillage in Colrain, MA, who will talk about cohousing and eco-villages; and John Neilson from Eco-Logic Homes, who will talk about renovating existing homes for energy savings. Bill Cole is the developer of Katywil EcoVillage. John Neilson has been a champion of sustainable building and renewable energy for twenty years and is a cofounder of Eco-Logic Homes of Keene, NH.
